WE FOUND NIMMO! The New York Mets have re-signed star CF Brandon Nimmo to an 8-year, $162 million deal. They have also added a BIG bullpen arm, David Robertson. The Mets are in business. This is Curveball.
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic day. The New York Mets are having a great day as they have just added two key players to their team.
Brandon is back! The New York Mets re-signed Brandon Nimmo. The 29-year-old is back in Queens for what should be the rest of his career. Injuries has been an issue for the center fielder, in 7 big league seasons, Nimmo has only had 2 full ones. However, he is a difference maker when on the field. He has a career .269 AVG, .827 OPS, .385 OBP, and 335 runs scored. In the field, he has been nothing short of stellar posting a .994 Fielding Percentage.
Of course, Nimmo makes the team better, he is also a fan favorite. He is always hustling on the field. He is one of a VERY small percentage of players that sprint to first after drawing a walk. He plays the game with passion and that famous Brandon Nimmo smile.
The Mets did not stop there. They signed RP David Robertson to a 1-year, $10 million deal. The righty was great on the mound in 2022. Last year with the Cubs and the Phillies, he had a 2.40 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and pitched in 63.2 innings. This a great move by the Mets. This is one of the best setup guys in baseball. Also, if Diaz ever gets hurt or Buck decides to put in Diaz in the 7th or 8th, Robertson has more than enough experience closing out games. He has finished 310 games in his career.
That will do it for today’s Blog. I hope you enjoyed. Please be on the lookout for any future blogs. I hope you can say extra loud tonight, LETS GO METS!
